Who we are

Oliver Waterstone founded Eightball Insights after almost twenty years working as a Creative Strategy Lead in London’s adland, with the good fortune of working on some of its biggest names, including Cadbury at VCCP for which he won the APG Grand Prix in 2021.

Throughout that time he regularly ran his own focus groups for clients, convinced that marketing departments were losing touch with their audience as survey data increasingly took precedence over real exposure to real people. 

Research agencies didn’t seem to be helping matters, positioning themselves as interpreters between brands and their audience, when they should be bringing them closer together.

Eightball Insights exists to address this problem. Our goal is to deliver more clarity, creativity and humanity to the business of understanding people; why they feel and behave as they do, and how to leverage that to drive commercial growth.
